Bergamo, San Bernardino in Pignolo
The Church of San Bernardino in Pignolo probably dates back to the late 15th century and boasts numerous paintings by Cavagna, a Madonna in the throne with the Infant Jesus and, above all, the wonderful altarpiece by Lorenzo Lotto depicting the Virgin in the throne with the Infant Jesus, St Joseph, St Bernardinus, St John the Baptist and St Anthony Abbot. The altarpiece is considered one of Lotto's masterpieces.
