Endine, Endine Lake
Lake Endine, with its characteristic river villages, represents a small pearl in the heart of the Val Cavallina. Situated at 337 m above sea level, its emissary is the Cherio River and it is suitable for canoeing while its perimeter can easily be explored by bike or on foot. The most typical elements distinguishing Lake Endine are its reed thicket hidden shores, small rowboats, fishermen, windsurfing and good family ¿style restaurants. Because it is a shallow lake, it is covered by a thick layer of ice in particularly rigid winters and through a special permit given by the local authorities, in some periods ice-skating is possible and even hand-gliding landings. The area can be reached by bus departing from Bergamo and Casazza and it presents various historic-artistic sites of interest such as the Suardi Castle in Monasterolo and the 15th century Church of S. Bernardino in Ranzanico. The beautiful 13th century Church of San Pietro in Vincoli in Spinone al Lago is also worth a visit. There are various beach establishments and panoramic points along the lake.
