Foppolo

Situated at the top of the Brembana Valley in the heart of the Orobie Alps, Foppolo is the most famous ski resort in the province of Bergamo: the village has undergone remarkable expansion, starting in the sixties, thanks to the development of winter sports. Besides skiing, however, thanks to its position, this small mountain village is also a starting point for several hikes in the Orobie Alps. This is the reason why Foppolo is a well-known holiday resort also during summer; Other sports on offer include paragliding, which attracts a considerable number of tourists. The village has lots of hotels, car parks and trading facilities, and is situated on the valley floor. Its position therefore enables the wide slopes to made available solely for ski-runs.
