Argegno
Argegno, with its pleasant climate, is on the eastern shore of Lake Como, at the mouth of the Val d'Intelvi. The incomparable panorama over the lake is worth a visit, as is the village itself, with its medieval origins. The founding of Argegno seems nevertheless to date to Roman times. Soon, it acquired importance thanks to its strategic position, becoming part of a vast defence system. In medieval times, two castles were built. At the height of Argegno, the Telo stream flows into Lake Como, over which is seen a medieval bridge. Argegno is equipped with a funicular that connects it to Pigra (881 metres), a location from which one enjoys a beautiful panorama. The town boasts the presence of a tourist port that allows the mooring of boats for aquatic sports.
