Lanzo d'Intelvi, Lanzo e Scaria
It is the main centre in Val D'intelvi and is bounded by the mount Sighignola to the South-West. It lays in an area of great landscape interest. WORTH VISITING: - St. Siro parish church; it was restored in the XV century and enlarged in the XIX century. Church of Madonna di Loreto; it was planned by Pietro Spazzi (1673). Lanzo D'Intelvi is starting point of many excursions such as: - Il Belvedere; it is a place of panoramic interest where you can get after a 20 minute walk; - the top of the mount Sighignola (1302 m) - the top of the mount Casle' (1045 m) Lanzo D'Intelvi is also a skiing resort with a 7,5 km ski sloper. EVENTS: - Feast of the Blessed Virgin of Loreto on the last Sunday of January. It is a traditional religious feast with the famous parade of the Madonna Nera; - Country feasts on the second Sunday of July and August 15th; there are games, lunch in the open in the pine-wood, music and dances.
SCARIA Scaria is a small village in the borough council of Lanzo. It seems to have very ancient origins (roman graves were founded there). It is situated on the road linking Pellio to Lanzo. WORTH VISITING: - St. Maria's parish church; this church keeps works of art by Diego and Carlo Carloni. They were artist belonging to a famous family of the village- Museo Diocesano di Arte Intelvese (Diocesan Museum of Intelvese Art).
