Cremona, Church of Saint Margherita
The Church of Santa Margherita was built in 1547 on the basis of a project commissioned by Bishop Marco Gerolamo Vida to Giulio Campi, who constructed the elegant architectural structure of the church and together with his brother Antonio provided for the fresco decoration of the beautiful inside. It is considered as one of the most significant examples of Cremonese mannerism. The elegance of the exterior is never excessive and is to be found again in the harmonious order of the inside, which has a single nave with side altars with episodes from the life of Christ.
