Gussola

This hamlet of Bassa Cremonese is on the banks of the Po. It was destroyed in the past by the flooding of the river. Linked to the ancient bank of the Po is the Lancone di Gussola, an Oasis for the protection of Wildlife, instituted by the Province of Cremona in 1995. The Oasis is entirely within the district of the Municipality of Gussola.Among the monuments of great historic and artistic interest, some beautiful late Baroque and neo-Classical villas may be visited in the area around the town.However, if you travel to Cremona you will find the valuable Palazzo Ala Ponzone, built in the 18th century (1788).
Among local events of interest to tourists is the Fair of San Lorenzo on the first Sunday in August, where merchandise and livestock are displayed.
