Pizzighettone, Walls
A village lying on the banks of the river Adda and encircled by trapezoidal walls: Pizzighettone, with its star-shaped plan, is the province’s most intact example of the fortified system from the 1500s. The view from the top is splendid, looking down on the houses squeezed within the walls which have retained their close-knit quality that has been lost elsewhere; however, it’s also worth having a wander round the little streets in the village.
