Bosisio, Museum of the House of Birth of the Parini poet and Parini Itinerary

The Museum of the House of Birth of the Parini poet is located in Bosisio.
The poet was born here in 1729 and lived here until 1939, when he moved to Milan. The house was bequeathed by the poet to the Appiani family, who kept it until 1930 when the property became subject to state jurisdiction.
In 1959 the necessary restoration works, requested by the Municipality of Bosisio and sponsored by the Ministry for Education, started.
The house, which was turned into a museum dedicated to the poet, displays everyday items from the times when he lived and staged his works.
The museum house has been included, together with Palazzo Cesati, the Church of Sant’Anna Vecchia and Piazza Parini, in the “Parini Itinerary”, i.e. a 2 km long itinerary inside the historical centre of the municipality.
