Lecco, Piazza XX Settembre

Piazza XX Settembre is strangely long and winding, where it is possible to admire the elegant Bertarelli house by Bovara and on house that preserves the pre ninth century structure, a memorial stone that reminds that there Antonio Stoppani was born (1824-1891), geologist naturalist but also a patriot and literate. The Torre Viscontea raises above the piazza, this is the only part of the fortifi cation of viscontea origin entirely survived to the demolitions decided at the end of the XVIII century; the Torre Viscontea is destined to be used as a museum and is the location for temporary expositions.
