Premana, Ethnographic Museum

The Ethnographic Museum, founded in 1974, is one of the most valid initiatives achieved in the area of the Lombardy Prealps, and contains plenty of material from agricultural and pre-artisan activities, supplying documentary evidence of local uses, habits, traditions and culture. It has a rich collection of objects from the agro-rural background and economic life of the community
It is on three floors and has various exhibition rooms: the archive and the photographic room on the ground floor; on the first floor, the “Iron room” to go over the historical stages of the working of iron in the territory, from the pre-roman period to the current production of scissors and knives, and the “Costume room” where tradition costumes are exposed along with weaving tools, kitchen equipments and handcrafts instruments; on the last floor, the “Agriculture room” divided in three more sections: agriculture and breeding, dairy procedure and carpentry.
