Lodi
The town squares are the main features of Lodi and the surrounding province they are used for markets, exhibitions, and where townspeople come to life and gather as they have done since medieval times. Outside the towns, poplar and willow trees characterise the landscape, growing along the banks of the rivers and canals and alongside the expanses of farmlands that dot the landscape and symbolise the area’s hard-working and nature-loving people.
In the Lodi area, known as the “Lodigiano”, visitors can find themselves immersed in an oasis of green that offers a variety of activities such as bird-watching, cycling or simply enjoying a delicious meal. This area is primarily agricultural and its cuisine reflects this; from delicious sausages and salami to traditional cheeses such as mascarpone and “granone lodigiano” hard cheese.
These sights and flavours are what attract visitors to the many gastronomic events held in the Lodi area which include typical products such as the ceramics which dates back centuries.
