Mantova, Cathedral of San Pietro - Cathedral
The cathedral is more famous as the cathedral and parish church of San Pietro the apostle. It is celebrated on 29th June, while the 18th March is St. Anselmo, i.e. the patron saint of the town and the diocese, and the first Sunday after 11th November is the celebration day of the Crowned Blessed Virgin Mary. The church is very peculiar as early as outside, with its right side in Gothic style and the 18th century Faced by Nicolò Baschiera (1755), while the inside is sumptuously in Giulio Romano style with a large variety of sculptures and paintings by Andreasino, Teodoro Ghisi, Gerolamo Mazzola Bedoli, Domenico Fetti, Giambettino Cignaroli, Domenico Brusasorci, Giuseppe Bazzani and Felice Campi.
