Pavia, Ponte coperto
The Ponte Coperto (Covered Bridge) is a reconstruction of 1951 of a sound 10-arches, 14th-century bridge that was destroyed by WWII bombings. It was completely demolished and then rebuilt slightly downhill, but totally differently from its medieval appearance. Today's bridge has five arches, and at its centre is the votive chapel dedicate to St John of Nepomucenus.
