Romagnese, Alpine Garden of Pietra Corva
The Alpine Garden of Pietra Corva is situated in Romagnese on the right-hand slope of the Tidone Valley, 950 metres above sea level and on the side of Mount Pietra di Corvo.
It currently performs a number of functions, as foreseen by the modern idea of botanical gardens management, ranging from the teaching-training function, to the preservation and protection function, up to research and the tourist-economic function.
At present, there are about 1,200 species in the garden, which are divided depending on their area of origin and the ecological and environmental characteristics necessary for their growth.
The Garden has a visit centre, where the various aspects of the territory are illustrated also thanks to a series of teaching panels placed along the internal paths. The fences bordering with these areas accommodate deer, fallow deer and moufflons.
