MappaBormio

Bormio is one of the main holiday resorts of the Alpine range and it is the main resort of Valtellina. Boasting avant-garde reception facilities, it is a real paradise for skiers. Numerous ski lifts are scattered around the slopes of Mount Vallecetta, up to a level of around 3000 metres; other ski runs served by ski tows are located on the other side of the valley, under Mount San Colombano. Thanks to the excellent standard of its facilities, in 1985 Bormio was chosen to be the seat of the World Alpine Skiing Championships. Cross-country skiers can take advantage of ski runs with night lighting, while nature lovers can alternate between skiing and going on excursions in Stelvio National Park, which also has its seat in Bormio. The town's extraordinary tourism package is rounded off by its ultra-modern spa resorts and the tasty gastronomic specialties of the area, like taragna polenta.
