Livigno
Livigno is North of the Alps, between Switzerland and Italy, surrounded by the Stelvio and the Swiss National Parks, at 1,800 metres above sea level. The valley is 23 Km long, stretched between two mountain sides, whose peaks reach an altitude of 3,000 metres. The village is formed by a long strip of typical local huts, made with stone and wood. Livigno has succeeded in preserving its Alpine traditions in its landscape, nature, culture and architecture. This unique geographical position is a guarantee for heavy snowfalls and perfect ski slopes from November until May. Livigno is well-known worldwide as a duty-free area. Every year plenty of tourists, who come to Livigno for their holidays, take also advantage of more than 250 shops for a few hours of quality shopping. Livigno is renowned for its various pubs, discos and bars for all those who, after a day full of sport and activities, still have enough energy to enjoy themselves all night long. Livigno is always awake, with a wide offer for all tastes. Winter: the snow and the ski area are the main reasons to plan a holiday in Livigno. The modern ski lift network connects no less than 115 km of slopes, with 4 cable-cars, 14 chair-lifts and 13 ski-lifts. For cross country skiers there is a 40 kilometre regularly groomed circuit free of charge! Two kindergartens on the snow are the best place where the youngest can learn to ski and have fun at the same time. For all beginners, Livigno has 6 downhill ski schools, plus one for snowboarding and one for cross-country skiing, as well as more than 30 ski rental shop. Livigno boasts of the Mottolino Snowpark, which has been awarded as Italy’s best snowpark and one of Europe’s finest ones.
Summer: Livigno offers over 600 km of trekking and MTB tracks which allow to enjoy an unique alpine nature.
