Gerola Alta, Valgerola

The skiing resort of Valgerola, in the town council district of Gerola Alta (Sondrio), offers skiers three runs; one blue, one red and one black, as well as a chair lift and a ski tow. It is a relatively small resort, but thanks to the excellent exposure of the slopes and the natural snowiness of the Orobie Valtellinesi it guarantees its visitors a great natural snowfall from December to April. The ski lifts take you from the 1450 metres of the Pescegallo resort to the almost 2000 metres of the Salmurano Pass. The runs are well looked after, varied and technically interesting. It is also possible to snowboard in the resort and hire the equipment needed for every kind of winter sport. Every year there is also a natural ice skating rink at Gerola's sporting complex.
