Varese, Pretorio Palace
Corso Matteotti (the "Corso", as the locals call it) is the town’s meeting place and has a pedestrian area in which you can take a stroll while window shopping, stop in cafes or simply meet with friends and acquaintances. This is where you will also find the most elegant buildings in Varese, with their eighteenth-century architecture. The Biumi building, the Pretorio (1570), once home to the town Hall, the Perabò house, which was the building that Pietro Veratti transformed into his residence at the end of the eighteenth century and was originally a Benedictine monastery.
